From aperitivo hour on, this American-owned bar packs in some regulars and swarms of expats. The scene in the campo gets livelier/rowdier from 10pm, when the 'program'-attending denizens of US university-owned accommodation around the campo descend on the bar and its outdoor tables. Sam's is unfortunately popular with the obnoxiously drunk participants of organised bar-crawls.
