Michelin Guide Singapore launches on July 21

Mark this date, folks: July 21. That’s when the inaugural and first South-East Asian edition of the Michelin Guide Singapore will officially gild the city's top restaurants – and you can pre-order your copy ($39.95) today, or check online then for Singapore's list.

In typical Michelin style, everything’s still shrouded in secrecy. But there will be restaurants in Singapore awarded one, two, and the top accolade of three stars, according to a rep from Robert Parker Wine Advocate, which is collaborating with the tyre manufacturer on the launch of the guide.

For now, you’ll have to wait. The stars and Bib Gourmands will be presented to the F&B establishments at a gala dinner, prepared by Joël Robuchon, on July 21. The dinner is open to the public – at a grand $450 a seat – and promises attendees an up-close and personal experience with the chefs of the newly crowned restaurants.

The people behind the guide are also launching a series of events set to take place over the remainder of the year, for example a series of showcases by local Michelin-starred chefs and wine-pairing dinners.

Pre-order your copy of the Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 here.

EDIT: A previous version of this post stated Robert Parker Wine Advocate is developing the guide in conjunction with Michelin. It is not. Robert Parker Wine Advocate is collaborating with Michelin for the launch of the guide. We apologise for the error.
