Time Out says

Want to know how pretty Adelaide can get? Come to Glenelg Beach at sunset and watch as the sun disappears into the Great Australian Bight as you stroll along the jetty. Glenelg has the distinct honour of being Adelaide’s busiest beach, adorned with charming hotels, shops and cafés that’ll keep you entertained and well-fed. Pro-tip: grab some fish and chips from Bay Fish Shop on Jetty Road and enjoy it out on the sand.

If the weather’s right, there’s nothing stopping you from dipping your toes into (or your whole head under) the water and lounging with the rest of town on the beach. The area is a hive of activity in summer, with bike hire, pedal cars, a bungee trampoline and a couple of buskers providing a soundtrack to your summer’s eve. Fancy a barbecue or a kick of the footy? There are a few foreshore parks to enjoy with barbecue facilities, playgrounds and public toilets.
