Stay Gold

Named for the famous last words uttered a dying Johnny says to Ponyboy in the novel turned 1983 film, The Outsiders, Stay Gold is a welcome addition to the ever-evolving East Cesar Chavez corridor. Nathan Hill and Will Tanner, alums of honky-tonk bar White Horse Saloon and campus haunt Hole in the Wall, are at the helm of Stay Gold. The soace is dominated by pintucked and studded lounge seating and a small stage, often occupied by local talent. The spacious patio is home to Toaster, the food truck known for its comfort-food offerings. Stay Gold demonstrates a new-school approach to classics—witness their ‘Beauty School Dropout’ (El Silencio espadin mezcal, Campari, grapefruit bitters, lime).
