With a casual patio for live music in back and a dark, moody lounge in the front of the house, the Blackheart appeals to drinkers who aren't about the scene—just about a good old-fashioned and a chill environment. Straightforward whiskey cocktails and craft beer is the name of the game here, and if you've arrived before a show, you can take your drink out to the front porch and people-watch revelers on Rainey. Check out the bar's calendar for upcoming acts.

The Blackheart is the first bar I went to on Rainey Street, so I will speak to it in regard to the overall vibe of Rainey... because I think this captures it. Like all of the bars, The Blackheart is in an old house, which is super cool, especially coming from NYC. There are a ton of beers to choose from and the vibe is very sultry - at least when I was there. There is live music, like most of the bars on Rainey. Very cool place to chill out and grab a drink.

If I'm choosing my vibe between Rainey Street and 6th Street, hands down Rainey is the place to be. The Blackheart is no exception whatsoever. It's essentially walking into a living room of a house that's always throwing a rockin' house party. Live music jamming as soon as you walk through the front door and the bar nearby. If it's a little too cramped in the front of house, grab your drink and head out to the backyard. There will be plenty of room back there and quite possibly another performance happening at the larger backyard stage. Perfect place to stop if you're bouncing from bar to bar on Rainey.

Another solid Rainey Street watering hole with decent whiskey cocktails - although this place kicks up another gear when there's a good live band playing (or 3). Good atmosphere and different patio areas to mill around.
