The return of Levitation fest is now a reality with today's announcement that they'll be hosting the event in downtown Austin from April 26 to 29, a triumphant comeback for the beloved psych fest. Shows will take place throughout the Red River Cultural District at venues including Stubb's, Cheer Up Charlie's, Barracuda and Empire Control Room.
The move back to downtown is a nice change from the past three fests, which were all held at Carson Creek Ranch and not as centrally located (Levitation took a hiatus in 2017). Now downtown, Levitation is hoping to offer a more intimate—and widely accessible—experience.
Levitation also announced tickets for its kickoff show at Stubb's on April 26, a solid lineup featuring Ty Segall, Parquet Courts and A Giant Dog. A full festival lineup will be announced later in the fall, with individually ticketed shows and a limited number of weekend passes available; pop-up events are also on the docket.
