Those smooth saxophone jams you hear coming from a basement downtown? That would be the Parker Jazz Club, a new jazz club and lounge from local jazz musician Kris Kimura and restaurateur Eric Leonard. Located in the downtown warehouse district in the same building as Capital Grille and Ra Sushi, the club is a welcome addition to downtown's growing jazz scene.

Parker Jazz Club has already hosted bands like the Ryan Davis Trio and Wasabi Big Band in their subterranean spot, and has the Kris Kimura Quartet on the docket throughout the rest of the weekend. On Sunday, Rent Party—"an eclectic group of Austin transplants"—will perform from 10-11:30pm. Check out their full calendar lineup here.

The lounge is also serving a mix of cocktails, beer, wine and sake, along with late night bites that cater to those with a sweet tooth: mascarpone cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and chocolates, among others. Want something more savory? Cheese and charcuterie plates are also available, as are sweet and salty platters. Happy hour lasts all night on Mondays, and runs from 5 to 7pm, Tuesday through Friday.

Stop by Parker Jazz Club Mon-Fri, 5pm-2am; Sat and Sun, 7pm-2am.
