It's opened in New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and other major cities around the country, and now it's finally opening in Austin: SPiN, a ping pong social club that is making its Texas debut on Friday. Who's up for a match?

The Austin location can be found at 213 W 5th Street (you may know it as the old Antone's venue), and is housed in a 9,000-square-foot space that features 14 Olympic style ping pong tables, a full-service bar and restaurant, a patio and local artwork. Once it's up and running—it officially opens to the public at 9pm on Friday, May 18—ping pong aficionados (and everyone else) will be able to rent tables by the half hour ($15 during off-peak hours, $22 during peak hours) or by the full hour ($25 during off-peak, $39 during peak). Peak hours include Monday through Friday, 5 to 10pm; Saturday 11am to close; and Sunday 11am-10pm.

In between sessions, you'll be able to snack on dishes at the restaurant like pork jack tacos, or sip on cocktails that include Pablo-Bee-Casso, an Austin special featuring Woody Creek Distillery Gin, jalapeno, Round Rock honey, star anise and lemon. Consider it fuel for your next match.

SPiN will offer soft opening hours to start: Saturday from 6pm to midnight; Monday through Wednesday from 5 to 10pm. Once it gets into the swing of things, there will be leagues to join, competitions to enter and plenty of ping pong parties to reserve. For now, stop by the grand opening party on Friday at 9pm (RSVP here) to practice your serve and school your friends.
