Forgoing the festival format this year, Sonic Transmissions is instead celebrating its fourth season with a five-part series. The first concert kicks off tonight with Rob Mazurek, Thor & Friends, Rick Reed and Tara Bhattacharya Reed and DJs Cross and Time Machine—find 'em all at Beerland starting at 7pm.

The South Congress Hotel will be hosting its First Thursday shindig tonight, with drink specials, a live performance by Black Pumas, DJs, an interactive photobooth and more. Stop by from 6 to 9pm.

A new brewery has made it onto Austin's craft beer scene. Oddwood Ales officially opens on Manor today, and will be pouring suds from 4 to 11pm. They'll be serving four beers—First Day of School, Earth Tones, Exact Science, Outworld—along with thin crust pizza, bruschetta and salads.
