The Paramount Theatre, which celebrated its centennial in 2015, hosts musicians, comedians, writers and even magicians—Houdini performed here—on its decorative stage. The Summer Classic Film Series includes some of the more than 100 movies the theater shows each year and the Moontower Comedy Festival was at the Paramount in 2012. The theater started as a vaudeville house in 1915 but soon became the city's grand movie palace. Today it still shows 35mm and 70mm films whose titles appear on the historic marquee outside.
