The mission of the Austin Child Guidance Center is to improve the mental health of children and their families through early intervention, diagnosis and treatment to help them develop the emotional skills for meeting life's challenges. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family therapists, and professional counselors provides individual, family, and group therapy; psychiatric and psychological services; parent education; community presentations and consultations; and training to current and future mental health professionals.

When lower-income Travis County children experience difficult emotional issues, Austin Child Guidance Center is there to guide them through: depression, anxiety, abuse, neglect, ADHD, bullying and trauma. Childhood behavioral health issues can have devastating consequences on children and our community, which contribute to academic failure, substance abuse, poverty into adulthood and juvenile delinquency. For 65 years, ACGC has been dedicated to the mission of children's mental health: each year serving over 3,500 children and family members, regardless of their family's ability to pay.

ACGC believes that every child deserves equal access to quality mental health care. Over 79% of ACGC’s clients are living at or below the 200% federal poverty level. Funds raised through the Art of Giving will go towards ACGC’s Amplify Austin campaign a city wide, 24-hour day of giving campaign. As partners of the St. David’s Foundation, ACGC will receive a match for every dollar donated through their Amplify Austin campaign. Please join us in raising awareness and critical funding for affordable, quality mental health care for underserved children and their families!
