Macro photography is a wonderful medium to create beautiful and interesting works of art out of the most ordinary items. With a little help on composition, lighting, and shooting macro, you can create artwork out of your images.

Let's have some fun using macro lenses for your DSLR or the macro setting on your point and shoot camera to create art that you can be proud to hang in your home.

This is a hands on class. We will provide a variety of interesting subjects to photograph along with lights and different background options.

The class will have 3 parts:

Part 1: Lecture

Lens choices for macro
Macro filters and extension tubes
Importance of a good tripod and head
Specialized macro gear
Aperture selection for macro
Part 2: Shooting

We will have a couple of shooting areas set up with lights and backgrounds so we can photograph various items. Scott will be there to help everyone get some great looking photos, and understand the new techniques.

LUNCH BREAK: Lunch not provided, but the group may opt to eat together at a nearby establishment if desired.

Part 3: Post Processing

Scott will show you how he uses Adobe Lightroom to develop images as well as create a professional looking multi image prints. This is not a software class so you are free to use the software of your choice. After you create your work of art, Precision Camera will provide you with a print. You'll wallk away with a finished image of your days workshop!

What to Bring:

Your DSLR camera with macro lenses, or a point and shoot camera with macro mode, extension tubes (optional), memory cards, fully charged batteries, laptops, chargers, card readers. All lighting will be provided.
