Austin Poetry Slam Mardi Gras Slam!

The Austin Poetry Slam is the biggest weekly spoken word competition in Texas, and this week, we're having a Mardi Gras slam in honor of Fat Tuesday!!! Hosted by Jomar Valentin!!! What does this mean for the competition? Masks! This week only, the costumes rule can be ignored so you can wear a mask! You will be allowed and encouraged to wear any mask you like during the slam. We probably won't penalize you if you don't wear a mask, but, but you might find the audience scratching their noses at you and saying things like: "Situations where you peddle poetry wares but won't wear masks really wears on our brain hardware." And etc. Otherwise, it's a regular slam with no feature! 14 poets, cut in half for round 2 and the top three go in the final round for their share of $100 cashware!!!
