Sustainable Food Center says
We have Bees! We are thrilled to announce the addition of a Teaching Apiary to the Sustainable Food Center Teaching Garden to bring pollinator awareness to the community.

In conjunction with Earth Week, we want to celebrate the pollinators that provide us with the bounty of food crop varieties that we consume and maintain biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.

We have an exciting week planned with activities for both children and adults, starting with an open house style event at the SFC Teaching Garden. This event will feature a variety of fun activities, including:

• 3:30pm: Pollinator Parade by Creative Action

• 3:45pm: Childrens gardening activity with our Teaching Garden Coordinator

• Ongoing: Tour of the St. David's Foundation Community Garden adjacent to the SFC Teaching Garden

• Ongoing: Bee Scavenger Hunt with Creative Action

• Ongoing: Drawing class with Art.Science.Gallery

• Ongoing: Garden Tour & Demos

• Ongoing: Live Music by Ley Line

• And much more!

No registration necessary - come by anytime!

The SFC Teaching Garden is located just east of the MLK MetroRail Station at MLK Blvd & Alexander Ave. Parking is available at 2921 E 17th St, near the SFC building.
