CITY COUNCIL VOTE on Fun Fun Fun Fest Black Stage
4PM - ??? (Follow @AustinMusicPpl on Twitter for updates)

Please join Austin Music People as we ask Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Austin City Council to honor the city’s promise to Fun Fun Fun Fest, and allow the festival to host its tenth annual event using the designated flex space at Auditorium Shores/Vic Mathias Park.

AMP and Austin music need as many music supporters as possible to join us in person on Thursday, August 6 at City Hall at 4pm to tell our city’s leadership that it’s time to keep their promise. No need to dress up - wear your favorite FFF or band t-shirt to show your support! Free validated parking for meeting attendees is available under City Hall; the entrance to the parking garage is on Guadalupe.

We understand that things change, and the team at Fun Fun Fun Fest and Transmission Events are ready and willing to discuss alternate plans for FFF 10.

But changing the rules now for a November event - an event with artists who already have signed signed contracts, with fans who have already bought nonrefundable plane tickets and made deposits on hotel rooms, and with 300 local workers and vendors counting on festival income to make ends meet - is unacceptable.

We know that not everyone can make it to a meeting downtown during rush hour. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to get your message to City Hall via email - just visit and you can quickly join the more than 8,900 messages that have already landed in the mailboxes of our elected officials!

You can watch the meeting live on TimeWarnerCable Channel 6, or livestream it from your computer or phone at

P.S. Want to speak at the meeting to share your support? An AMP rep will be the City Hall lobby starting at 3pm to help interested people sign up for a three-minute speaking slot. NOTE: Depending on total number of sign-ups, speakers may be limited to two minutes.
