Austin Youth Council says
What is Career Fest?

Career Fest is a career expo for high school students. It began as a recommendation from the Austin Youth Council, as an initiative to expand opportunities to explore various careers, as well as combat the rising teen unemployment rate. This past year, we held the first Career Fest at the Palmer Events Center, and provided over 150 high school students with the opportunity to learn about different career paths and summer job opportunities. This year we have already been working hard to make this event bigger and better.

Why Have a Career Fest?

The goal of Career Fest is to ensure Austin-area high school students are provided with job opportunities and career choices to prepare them for successful futures. Along with providing the students with the opportunity to network with managers, directors, and peers, in order to expand their field of career options, and possibly apply for internship and employment opportunities. Hoping to emphasize how important it is for these students to start developing the different skills necessary for future careers.

This is also a time when area employers can have the chance to showcase their career options and share information about internships. By attending Career Fest, area employers are investing in the personal development of Austin’s high school students.

All Austin Area High Schools are invited to attend!
There will be over 100 vendors!
