Hailing from the Republic of Tuva in Russia, the Alash Ensemble are practitioners of the ancient tradition of throat singing found among indigenous people in Siberia. Combining some Western influence with traditional Tuvan instruments and the haunting, ethereal beauty of throat singing, the Alash Ensemble is a unique chance to learn more about another culture from across the world.
The concert will be FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC at the Scottish Rite Theater, located at 207 W 18th St, Austin, TX 78701 (directions to the theater and parking information can be found at http://scottishritetheater.org/about/parking).
