The event creator says
After two years of recording and lots of hard work, sweat and patience…Austin’s El Tule will be releasing their fourth independently produced album “Cuatro” with Hecho In Austin Records on June 19th and 20th. The first event will be family friendly at Central Market North Lamar from 6:30-9PM and the second is 21 and up at One 2 One Bar (1509 S Lamar Blvd #600, Austin, TX 78704) The CD includes original Cumbia, Salsa, Latin funk & Psychedelic Chicha and will be available for purchase. Saturday the 20th will feature El Tule, Como Las Movies, Organizacion Kumbiambera, DJ Canoso, DJ Vanessa La Bestia and a few special guests TBA…
The band worked with virtuosos Gil Gonzalez (Genitallica, Scott Ralston) and with Beto Martinez (Grupo Fantasma,Brownout) at his new place Leche House Studios for part of the album. As with all three previous recordings, this latest “Volumen” continues the tradition of being “ music for those who love to dance, feel good and enjoy the positive expression of music.”
After making their debut in 2005 with “Volumen I”, El Tule has been steadily making the rounds at festivals and stages across the country, bringing their original sounds of Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue and Reggae to audiences with their high energy, grassroots, “puro movimiento” dance floor approach.
The sound…”El Sonido” that the band brings to each performance naturally transcends all cultural and social backgrounds.
The collaboration with the newly launched Hecho In Austin Records seems a natural evolution for both the band and label, which consistently try new styles and platforms to reach Latin music lovers . The Austin based label founded in 2015 has sought to promote world music through its obsessive love of music culture… always in search new, old, or sometimes forgotten music— with the purpose of sharing it with live and virtual audiences. El Tule is putting “something new”… “algo nuevo” out into the Cumbia Cosmos and they invite everyone to celebrate the fruits of their labor on June 20th.
The band would like to say to the great people of Austin- “Mil Gracias!”
