Our film church will reconvene at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 6th, in the parish hall at All Saints' Episcopal Church. Randy Jewart, founder and director of both Austin Green Art and Resolution Gardens, will be our curator and teacher for this session. A renowned stone sculptor, gardener, and activist for proactive social culture, Randy has a perspective informed by his presence in the places where art, nature, and culture intersect. We know he’ll be a great early guide for our new film church concept. Come see what short film Randy Jewart will choose as he leads us toward new discovery through conversation and shared experience. When local artists’ advocate Matson Duncan offered us the idea of hosting our first ever film church, we took it and ran with it. For five consecutive Fridays this Lenten season, The Front Porch will provide the Austin community with chances to join local film experts in watching the short films they want to curate. Each screening will be followed by a discussion led by the expert in hopes of exploring how we process the films that so often shape our spiritual, ethical, and social worldviews.
