Friday Food Forest & Garden Love Whistle While We Work Day

This week we will label trees and evergreen perennials in the food forest, work to remove grass from around trees, add mulch and plant some alliums for grass suppression. We will also be dispensing yummy compost tea on the gardens. Leave with a weeks worth of greens and herbs from our gardens. The Whole Life Learning Center is a private progressive school for children 5-13. It doubles as a permaculture center for people of all ages. All of the permaculture design courses for the Austin Permaculture Guild are held at this site. Every age of individual in our community learn from the elements on the property. There is currently 10k gallons of water catchment, a one to three year old food forest area, annual vegetable garden, 20 chickens, and a goat and mini-donkey duo. We will be getting our hands dirty every Friday here at the center starting at 10am. You don't have to be here right at 10am to participate.
