Holi 2016! Presented By Hindu Students Association says
Hindu Students Association at The University of Texas at Austin proudly presents Holi 2016! Please join us for Holi, commonly known as the Festival of Colors, as we celebrate the arrival of spring.

The event is completely FREE and open to everyone! Have friends and family from out of town that are interested? Bring them along as well. Our Holi celebration will feature entertainment provided by DJ AAMIR. Of course, there is no Holi without rang/color! Hindu Students Association WILL be providing rang for FREE, so don’t worry about bringing any. We’ll have plenty!

You don’t want to miss our largest celebration of the year! What makes this whole event even better? This is the THIRD year that our festival will be completely waste-free with the help of Green Events.

Don’t exactly know what Holi is? Holi is a colorful and vibrant Hindu festival celebrated in many parts of India. Holi celebrates the arrival of spring and a fruitful harvest season to come. People celebrate this festival by throwing rang - colored powder - on friends and family. Furthermore, Holi is not restricted to Hindus alone. Everyone, regardless of beliefs and backgrounds, is welcome to join in on the fun! Holi is meant to bring together all communities in a friendly and open environment to illustrate a sense of unity.

Hindu Students Association’s goal is to showcase a piece of South Asian culture here on The University of Texas campus with an event for everyone to enjoy and learn a little bit more about our heritage.

What does HSA’s Holi celebration at UT look like? Here’s a look at last year:

Here are some ground rules for the event, so everyone can enjoy this fun celebration:
Water balloons are NOT permitted.
Water guns (or any other weapons) are NOT permitted.
Rang/color from a source other than Hindu Students Association is NOT permitted.
Please do NOT mix the rang with water.
Please do NOT play around or in the fountain.
