Prerequisites: Intermediate or advanced aerial experience

Common to almost all aerial apparatus, this session will focus on the more advanced positions of both the meathook (front flag) and the flag (back flag, reverse meathook, 'armbreaker' ). Students will take a look an extensive look at the physical preparation necessary for safe transitions into and out of these positions as well as how to use the shoulder to support the body and similarly, how the the body itself can make the position lighter and more comfortable. Price: $65 Length: 90 minutes

This will be a multi apparatus/open apparatus workshop. If you would like to byoa (bring your own apparatus) please contact us at least 48 hours BEFORE the start time.

Dan Stern is an acrobat, aerialist and juggler. He is a graduate of the New England Center for Circus Arts' Professional Program, where he specialized in partner acrobatics and aerial straps under Sellam al Ouahabi and he has trained internationally with some of the world's best athletes, artists and movers. When not at home in Oakland, he can be found teaching workshops across the United States or performing internationally with the award winning show Soap.
