However, some technologies have relatively more direct impact on improving lives, and society overall, through their focus on achieving social good. Technology can not only entertain us and improve our work output, it can make our lives, and our world, better. This month’s Austin Forum is dedicated to technologies that have a strong social good motivation, with presenters from several Austin companies presenting on technologies they have developed to make the world better. Learn about technologies that improve health and transportation, that support education and local businesses, that promote volunteering and developing solutions to social problems and issues. Share ideas with social entrepreneurs--people who are using their businesses to make the world better—and prepare to think about how your own interests in technology can be directed towards achieving social good. Bring yourself, your friends & colleagues, your best ideas, and plenty of business cards! Two SXSW Interactive badges will be given to two lucky registered attendees! Light refreshments will be offered at the reception that follows the presentation. Registered attendees will receive a free drink ticket for the reception. A cash bar is available beginning at 5:15pm. Street parking is available until 6:00pm for $1/hour. After 6:00pm, parking is free. Discounted parking is available in the surface lot located on Trinity between 7th Street and 8th Street for $5 for Austin Forum patrons. Seating is limited to 300 friends. Please RSVP now for priority seating. Walk-in guests will be admitted as space is available after registered guests have been seated. See you on March 3rd!
