James "Slim" Hand says
For nearly 50 years this archetypal entertainer kept the torch of traditional country and especially Honky Tonk music aflame. James "Slim" Hand started playing still as a teenage boy and has since then never slowed down, keeping the sounds of Hank, Lefty, Webb & Faron alive.
For the last 20 something years, he finally found the well deserved attention and admiration, not just from the Lonestar State but nationwide, especially since Rounder released his albums to a bigger audience.
Besides playing special events like the legendary Spring Fling Music Festival, this will be Slim's first full evening show at Giddy Ups. I hope this will become a more regular night, in one of the last true Honky Tonks that still exists in Austin. (amu)
