Tokyo-born Keiko Matsui’s career spans over three decades and continues to evolve and inspire listeners worldwide. Now based in Los Angeles, Matsui’s innovative jazz-fusion and keyboard compositions take audiences into sonic spaces never encountered. Influenced by Stevie Wonder, Matsui’s diverse compositions are bright cuisines of western and eastern blends. The songs transcend flavors and appetites to smooth jazz and even funk and folk listeners. Constants to her music are references to the moon, plants, and animals. Her creations bring a spiritual depth to her subjects. Since 2000, her albums have a more world beat flavor.
