Join the Magic Lantern League at the next installment of the Austin Steampunk Film Series. We're kicking off 2015 with a celebration of early animation! I've assembled an incredible collection of animation from around the world, ranging from the 1890s to the 1940s. We'll have the essentials - Disney, Warner Brothers, Betty Boop - plus Soviet-era propaganda, stop-action puppetry, silhouette animation, early Japanese animation, banned cartoons, and much more. WARNING: The "banned" cartoons have elements of sexism & racism. These are being screened for their historical significance. Hosted by Professor Argo. Tues Feb 17 @ 7:00 pm (Movie starts at 8pm) Sherlock's Baker Street Pub and Grill (North location at 183 & Burnet) THIS IS A FREE EVENT. The screening will start at 8pm, with socializing and discussion before and after. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list to keep up with all the steampunk film screenings & events.
