Managing Pests & Invasives At Community Gardens

The event creator says
The community garden setting poses unique challenges when managing pests--think Bermuda grass, fire ants, poison ivy, and population explosions of squash vine borers and harlequin bugs.

What techniques can we use to prevent and manage pests and invasives? What unique opportunities for prevention and management does the community garden setting offer?

Panelists Ila Falvey of Sunshine Community Garden, Zachary Spencer Herigodt of Yard Farm, Dwight Littleton of It's About Thyme nursery, and Kellyn Smith of Travis County Master Gardeners Association will share insights from their personal experiences as long-time gardeners and/or community gardeners.

For a list of more panel discussions for community gardeners, see the schedule here: http://communitygardensaustin.org/.
