"Mark Lewis: Galveston"

In this special commission from the Contemporary Austin, British video artist Lewis uses his camera to explore—eerily, slowly—the Texas city of Galveston. He imbues the city's signature architectural feature, the 23-floor One Moody Tower, with an Orwellian quality: For the artist, the building looms like a promise "of a future that might still happen but as of yet has not arrived."
