Minor Mishap Pedicab Parade Benefiting Bikes Across Borders says
Join Minor Mishap Marching Band, Bikes Across Borders, Pete Murray and Huerta Culture for a benefit party at Cycleast! Bikes Across Borders leaves May 16th for Ciudad Acuña to donate bikes to workers in need of sustainable and affordable transportation. This year we are bringing a coloring book to offer to those we meet along the way to spread the word about bikes and sustainability. Join us for a show $3-$10 donation at the door to fund the book and have a drink and some tunes with us!

From Cycleast, a pedicab parade with Minor Mishap rolls at 7 pm, so come ride or stroll with us! We return about 8 pm for more music and good times, also at Cycleast.

8:00 Minor Mishap Marching Band (to end the parade)

8:30 Pete Murray

9:45 Huerta Culture

BXB has been riding to Mexico annually since 2000. Bikes are rebuilt using recycled parts and frames. The group rides these refurbished bikes to Mexico, where they are donated to local underserved communities. Over the last few years, bikes have been donated to Comité Fronterizo de Obreras (aka Border Committee of Workers), who distributes the bikes to underpaid factory workers in the US / Mexico Free Trade Zone (FTZ) / Maquiladoras.

Extensive bike knowledge is not necessary. However, members should have the time and interest to learn how to rebuild a bike and do basic bike maintenance. Everyone is expected to be capable of riding 40-50 miles/day (loaded with personal camping gear); we average 35 miles/day. This is a self-supported "no-SAG" ride.
