Nancy Mims: The Passed Looms Present says
A Print Austin event
Saturday & Sunday February 13 & 14, noon to 5PM

On Saturday and Sunday February 13 and 14, from noon to five, the Elisabet Ney Museum will present NANCY MIMS: THE PASSED LOOMS PRESENT, a very special installation art piece.

Austin artist Nancy Mims will transform the Ney’s landscape north of Waller Creek in this one-of-a-kind site-specific participatory installation. On three tree-bound looms, very large prints will come together with the help of string, cloth, ink, found objects, and rope. Visitor’s hands will be recruited for the weaving of these remarkable works. Enormous photographs will hang in the breeze as well. There will be an Artist’s Talk at 2 PM both days, and a reception on Saturday 2/13 from 4 to 6PM. The Passed Looms Present will take place rain or shine; in this case the weather is part of the printmaking process. Of note, this event is part of PRINT AUSTIN, a month-long celebration of Austin’s vibrant print art community, and marks the first time the Ney has ever participated in this series.

Admission as always is free.
