*New Classes: Dance Trapeze And Handstands With Julia Hornsby says
We are thrilled to welcome Julia Hornsby, one of Austin's most well-loved aerial instructors to Four Elements in April! We couldn't be more thrilled to have her join us for dance trapeze and handstands.

Dance Trapeze:
Come fly, float, and spin on the trapeze! We will work with a low single-point trapeze (3-6 feet off the ground) to develop vocabulary on the bar and dance in the space beneath. Students must be able to safely invert from the ground (tagging the bar with the feet is okay). Those new to trapeze can expect skills that build strength and coordination in the air; experienced students will be given more complex sequences. Wear clothing that covers the shoulders, armpits, and the backs of the knees; you may also wish to bring ankle protection (socks or leg warmers).
Saturdays at 2:30

Handstands for All:
Open to all levels--yes, even if you’ve never done a handstand before! The regular practice of handstands is a complement to aerial and pole training. Most importantly, it's fun! Beginning hand standers can expect drills to stabilize the core and shoulders while gaining confidence and coordination. Those with handbalancing experience will work on balance and stamina, including pressing and one-arm drills.
Saturdays at 4

Bio:
Julia studied aerial arts at the San Francisco Circus Center, specializing in single point and static trapeze, and has taught circus arts to youth and adults of all levels since she returned to Austin in 2012. She has taken teacher training through Nimble Arts at the Foundation and Intermediate levels in trapeze, and she earned her 200-hour yoga certification in 2008. Julia is a member of Rapt Aerial Dance, but her primary focus, and her greatest love, is teaching. Her classes seek to provide a supportive, safe environment to learn, grow stronger, and play.
