Time Out says

East Austin's El Sapo will be home to a four-day series of day parties featuring a cadre of international talents put on in conjunction with college radio station KRTU San Antonio, broadcast from Trinity University. The parties start off on Wednesday, March 18th with the Nextbop/The Art of Cool Project/Jazz 91.7 Jazz for the Masses Party. The day party will take place unofficially alongside Austin's massive long-running South by SouthWest music festival. http://www.musicforlisteners.com/nextbopatelsapo15/nextbopatelsapo2015.html Schedule subject to change 12pm - Sky Window 1pm - Quantic (DJ set) 2pm - Twin Danger 3pm - Horace Bray 4pm - Butcher Brown 5pm - Sidewalk Chalk 6pm - Hypnotic Brass Ensemble It's going down next Wednesday, March 18th at El Sapo This will be the third year Nextbop & Art of Cool will be putting on this event, exhibiting a wide range of eclectic jazz and jazz-periphery acts, the perfect sort of bill for SouthBy. Hosting an unofficial day party during the festival focused on jazz music is rather rare. While SXSW does feature some jazz musicians each year, the showcases are in an official capacity. Nextbop & AoC editor Anthony Dean-Harris saw this as an opportunity to fill a niche that was clearly missing in this sprawling event. With the support of the staff at KRTU and especially with fellow radio hosts Michael Thomas and Orlando Torres who have been throwing unofficial indie rock day parties of international renown in East Austin for the better part of a decade to considerable success under the umbrella of their late night show Music for Listeners, this event is sure to be an absolute blast and one of the must see unofficial shows of the festival. The Nextbop/Art of Cool/KRTU day party will run on March 18th at 12pm. (There will also for the seventh year running be the Music For Listeners / KRTU Indie Overnight parties from Thursday the 19th to Saturday the 21st at Noon each day). All the parties as always are free and all ages. No RSVP or wristband is required. It's a jazz party and it'll be crazy exciting. We hope to see you there!
