Out of Bounds Comedy Festival says
Neo-Futurism is organic and honest. We create and perform our work by combining forms of experimental theater into an aesthetic that is fresh, unique and dynamic. We tell our stories–as we are, where we are and doing what we are doing.

In this performance-based workshop, derived from exercises and assignments created by Neo-Futurist founder Greg Allen, participants will generate and perform new work that engages the self, the immediate surroundings, and the world at present. Learn how to break down the 4th wall to become autobiographers, living newspapers, and arbiters of the surreal. Come unearth your most creative self. No experience necessary!

The NY Neo Futurists are an ensemble of dynamic writer/performer/directors who are best known for their critically acclaimed, energetic show of original short plays, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. A collage of the comic and tragic, the political and personal, the visceral and experimental, Too Much Light endeavors to tell dynamic stories while embracing chance, change, and chaos. Since 2004, the New York Neo-Futurists have not only created over 3800 new plays and performed those plays around the world, but they have taught hundreds of creative workshops to schools, communities and corporations around the country. Workshops in both writing and performance at Out Of Bounds will be lead by founding Ensemble Member Rob Neill and longtime company members Meg Bashwiner and Emma Reaves. All three have toured extensively as Neo-Futurists and bring a combined 35 years of experience with Neo-Futurism.
