*Cecilia and the Broken Hearts play and promote afro-chicano-futurism. https://www.facebook.com/CeciliaAndTheBrokenHearts/?fref=ts

*Huerta Culture plays dance music for parties. The band mixes cumbia, ska, reggae, hip-hop, blues, rock, and balkan influences to create a sound that has been dubbed 'psichocumbia'. With 4 singers in the band sometimes all switching verses throughout a song and singing in English, Spanish, and Quechua (an indigenous language of Bolivia), Huerta Culture keeps arrangements dynamic and eclectic. The phat bass and rhythmic keys are accompanied by a wizard trumpet. Some songs also feature the guacharaca and the Andean pan pipes. In 2014 Huerta Culture released the full length album HOMEGROWN. Check it out at http://www.cdbaby.com/m/cd/huertaculture
Huerta Culture is also happy to have been included on this compilation album recently distributed at the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) in New York. https://www.facebook.com/huertaculture/posts/895360563836123

*Plan Sonidero is a big band with a big sound that plays authentic cumbia music. https://www.facebook.com/plansonideroatx/?fref=ts and http://plansonidero.com/

*Kenny Dorham's Backyard was named after a legendary jazz trumpeter who once lived in the East Austin neighbourhood. The 2-acre space is a unique and creative community space managed by Diverse Arts. http://diversearts.org/
