ES 101 | Poetics of the Natural World

ABOUT THE CLASS
Take a literary approach to exploring the mysteries of the universe and follow in the tradition of Thoreau’s early work, Japanese court poetry, and the writings of Hildegarde Von Bingen. In this course you will explore a specific region of scientific inquiry, both historical and contemporary through the appropriate poetic form. Then, learn how to assemble and hand-bind a chapbook of work.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Emily Beyda, BA, MFA candidate
Emily Beyda is a graduate of the Global Liberal Studies Program at New York University where she studied literature and translation. An experienced traveler and teacher, Beyda has also worked in publishing.
