Intro to Forrest Yoga with Lisa Loring (but don't let the "Intro" Fool You, Yoga Vets!)

Sun Jan 31st, 2pm (90 minute class)
All Levels - $15 drop in ($12 students, or use your class pass)

There are many doorways to a yoga practice and Forrest Yoga is one of them. Through Forrest Yoga you have a place to find your physical health and strength and also a place where you can welcome your Spirit back home - "Spirit" in the sense of being your authentic self.

Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. The practice is founded on four pillars -- Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit.

BREATH
Forrest Yoga teaches you how to breathe deeply, connect in feeling with your body, use the power of breath to bring aliveness into every cell of your body and ignite your passion for living.

STRENGTH
Forrest Yoga teaches you to connect to your core, to be strong and centered. The pose sequences are designed to help you develop the skills to awaken each of your senses. Longer holds in the poses help you progress in the poses and go deeper and build heat in the body. As you build your own heat, you learn to meet the physical sensation of heat with deep breathing which oxygenates and rejuvenates every cell in your body.

INTEGRITY
Forrest Yoga teaches you to develop tools to safely tailor each pose to work best for you, particularly if you are working with physical and emotional injuries. By learning to work honestly at your edges, you begin to understand how to deal with fear and struggle. This makes it possible for integrity, self-awareness and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life.

SPIRIT
Forrest Yoga's intent is to create a sense of freedom, a connection to your Spirit and the courage to walk as your Spirit dictates.

There is also a Fifth Pillar, which is to GO DEEPER - And this is for the Yoga Vets. This means to go back to the beginning, revisit your foundation and dive deeper into, maybe even dismantle pieces of it, and rebuild, reshape and renew.
