Open Ears Concerts says
Born in St. Louis, raised in Tulsa, beginning her musical career in the south of France, and playing around 200 shows per year for over a decade, Susan Herndon has nurtured and grown a true troubadour’s ethos – sharing her passion for song and stirring spirits throughout North America and Europe. “Music really is our universal language,” says Herndon. “And I do believe that good songs – in any language – can truly touch souls. I know they have saved my life on numerous occasions."

With an engaging smile and graceful charm, she touches upon themes both universal and deeply personal, from longing and loneliness, to home, family, faded memories and hopeful dreams. And she connects with her listeners in a voice that conveys equal parts savory innocence and knowing savoir-faire.

Her latest release “Vagabonde” crosses genres and languages as easily as jet planes cross oceans, with styles ranging from country to jazz and lyrics sung both in English and French. This will be her official Austin CD release show, so you’ll be able to be one of the first to own this treasure.

D.C. Bloom, an Austin-based singer-songwriter and journalist whose style has been described as quirky, witty, erudite, intelligent, and whack, opens the show.

This show will also help support the St. Andrew’s youth group’s social action trip. They will volunteer at the Humanitarian Respite Center at Sacred Heart Church in McAllen, Texas, helping provide service and compassion to the thousands of women and children refugees from growing violence in Central America.

Doors open and potluck starts at 6:00 PM, show starts at 7:00 PM.
