The 6th Annual Garden Party says
Help replenish the growing butterfly sanctuary at The Butterfly Bar. Over the past six years, we have actively cultivated butterfly vines, fed the caterpillars, and watched them emerge as butterflies. Join neighbors and friends of The VORTEX for a day of planting and renewal of the Earth. Bring a butterfly vine to plant. Mother Earth will be in attendance to help restore the garden and help us plant the new additions.

We are thrilled that this year, we will have an animal petting zoo for families to enjoy. Last year, children had the opportunity to meet a calf, baby chicks, bunnies, goats, and kittens. We can’t wait to see the new babies that will show up for the Garden Party this year.

Donations of butterfly-friendly plants are much appreciated. The following native plants would be great additions to the sanctuary: Milkweed, Milkweed, Milkweed Vine (the Monarchs like it best!!) Cypress Vine, Cardinal Climber, Passion Flower, Coral Honey Suckle, Texas Wisteria, Alamo Vine, Trumpet Creeper, Cross Vine, Texas Bindweed, and Morning Glory. Non-prickly Cacti (Texas variety), Mexican Lantana, Rosemary, big bags of potting soil, gardening tools and gloves also welcome.

Live Music by Robi Polgar will accompany our planting. Patrizi’s will be open and serving up a special Italian Garden Party menu. The Butterfly Bar will be serving special Garden inspired cocktails in addition to our regular menu, including a delicious twist on the mimosa called The Butterfly. Little ones are encouraged to attend. Hoola hooping and gardening!

Thanks for helping us make The Butterfly Bar @ The VORTEX a great community spot that butterflies and their human friends can enjoy!
