Time Out says

Tru Thoughts is presenting an official SXSW showcase in Austin this year! The eclectic showcase includes a unique all 45s DJ set from Quantic, and live performances by Lost Midas (featuring singer Audris) and The Seshen. We have also invited a few friends to join the night including Photay, Gabriel Garzón-Montano, and El Último Vecino. Quantic Music Quantic, aka Will Holland is a British born Musician, Producer & DJ making Soul, Electronic & Latin Music saturated in the tropical soundwaves of the Carribean. Recently relocated and currently working from his new Sonido del Valle studio base in Brooklyn NY, Holland has developed a sound that bridges heritage and progression, marrying spontaneous musicianship with deep, exciting tonality. Lost Midas With influences ranging from a lifelong love of pop melodies and the ‘80s New Wave, from Mahavishnu Orchestra and Actress, to Claude Debussy and Boards of Canada, LA based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lost Midas treads an aesthetic turf somewhere between Neon Indian and Bibio; irresistible and enduring ditties peeped through a shifting shroud of striking textures and idiosyncratic beats. The Seshen Fronted by vocalist Lalin St. Juste, The Seshen is a seven piece band based in San Francisco. Mixing live and electronic elements and taking influence from eclectic sources including psychedelia, hip-hop, pop, R&B, West African music, dub, and indie rock, they create beat-driven compositions with a strong emotional core, a compelling sound that has hooked many fans and bloggers from first listen. Photay Photay is the solo musical endeavor of Evan Shornstein, a 21-year-old hailing from the lush and peaceful evergreen valley of Woodstock, NY. Photay’s sound is a balancing act of analog and digital, of natural and synthetic. It is not designed exclusively for headphones nor the dancefloor, but is genuinely at home in both contexts. Gabriel Garzón-Montano Introducing singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and native New Yorker Gabriel Garzón-Montano. Born to a Colombian father and a French mother, Gabriel spent his early years mastering the violin, guitar, and drums, before turning to the piano and bass guitar to better complete his compositions. EL ÚLTIMO VECINO. El Ultimo Vecino is frontman Gerard Alegre’s own personal project. It sprang out of the darkest trenches of Barcelona’s underground scene to become shortly after a national indie sensation. www.tru-thoughts.co.uk
