Austin Sanctuary Network says
Join us at Austin City Hall for an interfaith vigil for Hilda and her son, who took sanctuary from deportation in early February at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church after Hilda's asylum case was rejected and immigration officials began a series of raids on immigrant families. Hilda is one of many undocumented immigrants in Austin who fear being torn from their family and community by deportation. Austin is known as a progressive and welcoming city, but the Austin Police Department still collaborates with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport immigrant members of our community. During the Christian Holy Week as we reaffirm our value of welcoming the stranger, we will demand that the Austin City Council and Mayor Adler take action to separate the Austin Police Department from immigration to end our city's participation in deporting immigrant members of our community, like Hilda and Ivan.

Please bring a banner to identify your organization (if you belong to one), and wear a white shirt!

***There wil be ASL interpreting at this event***
