Time Out says

Tuesdays + Thursdays, March 3-12, 10-2p Students will learn variations on wire wrapping to enhance their jewelry designs, findings and connection techniques. Projects/Techniques Covered: • Herringbone weave (Earrings) The herring bone weave is a beautiful pattern consisting of adjoining vertical rows of slanting lines, two continuous lines formed in wire either a V or an inverted V, you can see this weave used in masonry, textiles, embroidery, etc. This weave is a gorgeous enhancement that can be combined with other wire workings or to create a necklace for a pendant . The weave can also be used as a bracelet. • Coiled wire frame The coiled wire frame works best with spherical or flat round beads like coin pearls. The tightly woven wire framework circles around the bead, creating a visual effect that is similar to a bezel in stone setting. • Wire wrapped bead cap This wire wrapped bead cap accentuates a briolette or teardrop bead with a sophisticated coiled bead cap woven with fine gauge wire. This wire wrapping technique enhances ordinary beads. The coiled wire rests atop the briolette or teardrop bead, enhancing the stone to make it more elegant. Tuition: $320 + $30 Kit Fee
