Capella is bringing a new level of luxe to Brisbane, with the debut of its third global residence

Big things are in store for Brisbane – and for once, we aren’t talking about the 2032 Olympics. One of the world’s most luxurious hospitality brands, Capella, has just unveiled plans to open its third private residence in Australia’s Sunshine State, joining the ranks of Seoul and Bangkok. Taking over prime real estate on the Brisbane River, this exclusive sanctuary will reimagine a historic estate with a collection of ultra-luxe residences, wellness facilities, six swimming pools (six!), a private marina and more.
Within just two years of launching, Capella’s first Australian hotel in Sydney claimed the 12th spot on the prestigious World’s 50 Best Hotels list, making it the highest-ranked in the entire Oceania region. The brand continued its momentum this February by unveiling The Lands by Capella, a landmark Sydney destination for luxury events, dining and retail. Now, all eyes are on Capella Residences Brisbane.
Set along a premium Brisbane River bend at Kangaroo Point, the sparkling new residence will thoughtfully reimagine the heritage-listed Shafston House estate – a riverside landmark dating back to the 1850s.
Capella Hotel Group is collaborating with Brisbane-based developer Verso Projects to bring this project to life. According to a 2025 proposal, Verso plans to build a 25-storey, 90-metre residential tower featuring two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, alongside two standalone riverfront homes. The project will also include hotel-inspired amenities and wellness facilities, complemented by a private marina, expansive gardens, six pools (three of which are for all residents) and a signature Capella Living Room. Pretty much, this is as luxurious as it gets!
