In serious need of a holiday? We’ve been there. Thankfully, Jetstar has our back – the budget airline is celebrating its 21st birthday this week by bringing back its famous Return for Free sale. What does that mean? Exactly what it says on the tin: book a flight to your dream destination (with domestic and international routes included), and your flight home will cost you zero dollars. Here’s the lowdown.

The Jetstar Return for Free Birthday Sale will launch to the general public at midnight AEST tonight (Tuesday, May 6) and run for just 48 hours, ending at 11.59pm AEST on Thursday, May 8 (unless already sold out). Want early access? Club Jetstar members will be granted access to the sale from noon today (Tuesday, May 6).

With more than 80 domestic routes and heaps of international routes included in the sale, it might be tricky to pick your destination. In the mood for a beachside escape? You could fly to Byron Bay from Sydney for $38 (and return for $0), or from Newcastle to Hobart for $59.

Want to explore a tropical island? Flights from Perth to Bali start from $154 (remember, $0 return), from Sydney to Vanuatu from $209, and from Sydney to Phuket from $299. Other international destinations on sale include Singapore, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and more.

Travel dates vary for each route, but include early September 2025 until late March 2026 for domestic travel, and late May 2025 until late March 2026 for international flights.

Keen for early access? You can become a Club Jetstar member and book your cut-price escape over here.
