If anyone knows how to throw a festival, it’s South Australia. This long-underrated state has been crowned Australia’s Best Event State for the past four years, thanks to its stacked calendar of arts, music, sport, and seriously good food and drink. While culture vultures across the country are gearing up for Adelaide Fringe, there’s one festival foodies should put on their radar for 2026 – Tasting Australia.

Now in its 19th year, the nation’s longest-running eating and drinking festival returns to South Australia from May 8 to 17. This ultimate gastronomic celebration spotlights the nation’s favourite culinary stars and local producers across more than 150 events. Adelaide will be at the heart of the action, but the flavour spreads far beyond the city to the Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula, Flinders Ranges and Limestone Coast.

With more than 150 events on the program, figuring out where to eat and drink at Tasting Australia can feel quite overwhelming. That’s where we come in. We’ve sifted through the 2026 line-up and handpicked ten of the best events at Tasting Australia, ranging from cheap-and-cheerful markets to splurge-worthy one-off dinners.
