We even claimed seven out of the top 20 spots!

Big news for anyone who considers a burger and fries to be an essential food group: Australia has just claimed 11 spots in the inaugural World’s 101 Best Burger Places list. Even more impressive, we secured seven spots within the top 20, with the nation’s highest-ranking burger landing at number three globally. Bun-believable!
This brand-new burger ranking comes from Upper Cut Media House, the London-based group behind the esteemed World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants. For the debut edition, anonymous judges evaluated 1,500 burgers across every continent, looking beyond popularity or social media hype. They evaluated each burger on meat quality and flavour profile, also considering the full guest experience: consistency, service, cleanliness, atmosphere and sustainability.
Topping the global list with all the trimmings are London joints Bleecker Burger (#1) and Black Bear (#2). Australia made its debut at #3, with the American cheeseburger at chef Neil Perry’s Café Margaret in Sydney taking the final podium spot. At $29, this legendary burg is quite the mouthful, featuring a 160-gram CopperTree Farms’ beef patty, American cheese, rose mayo (spiked with umami and tomato sauce), onion and pickles in a milk bun, with the option to add fresh chilli and bacon.
Australian burgers claimed seven of the top 20 spots, with the full top 101 featuring seven Sydney joints, two from Melbourne, one from Adelaide and even one from Wollongong. You can check out the full list of Aussie winners below.
