QantasLink is launching non-stop flights from Perth to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands on May 1

They say life’s a journey, not a destination – but it’s a heck of a lot more convenient when the journey is quick and the destination is spectacular. Enter: The Flying Kangaroo’s newest direct flight to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
From May 1, QantasLink is launching a new non-stop service from Perth to Australia’s most remote tropical islands – perfectly timed for a dreamy winter escape.
Taking off every Friday, this brand-new service removes the previous stopover in Port Hedland, cutting the total journey time to just over four hours. It’s a win for West Coasters eyeing a quick tropical escape, but even better news for East Coast travellers. The later departure means holidaygoers can skip the overnight in Perth and head straight into island time.
As Australia’s most remote tropical islands, the Cocos archipelago welcomes just 144 travellers at any given time – making it perfect for a true off-grid getaway. You can spend your days snorkelling in crystal-clear lagoons, stretching out on sugar-white sands, sampling local Cocos Malay cuisine and cycling through palm-fringed jungles. Actual bliss!
Direct flights from Perth to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands are now available to book via Qantas, starting from $811. For those who want to tick off two remote Indian Ocean islands in one trip, Qantas also offers a Monday service that includes a stopover on Christmas Island.
