Time Out says

Frederic Amat (Barcelona, 1952) is one of the leaders on the contemporary Catalan art scene. His open conception of art has led him to integrate his work in multiple fields: painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, performance, book illustration, audiovisual, theatre arts and events in architectural spaces.

This exhibition presents a selection of projects in public spaces, both natural and urban, often related to architecture, with the aim of creating a map or topography of his work, always searching for the poetic component that is derived from all of his pieces.

The title of the exhibition, 'Zoetrope', references the strobe machine made with a spinning drum that has cuts in it through which you can see a series of images that, when the drum is turning, seem to move. The exhibition, like a zoetrope, aims to show various facets of Amat's work in relation to space, architecture, the city and the landscape.
