This year marks the 12th edition of Barcelona's international art fair and kicks off the artistic season. Three hundred artists and 70 national and international galleries take part in this fair for young talent. You'll find new areas this year such as 'Feminine Mexico', featuring women artists and artists who work in a female environment.
Closer to home, keep an eye out for the 'Ephemeral' section, coordinated by Caterina Almirall in collaboration with Barcelona's creative factories, where you can see installation works by artists (Lluc Baños, Jessica Moroni and Aldo Urbano, among others) who question our relationship with the world via the senses. Also check out the Swab Performances programme, brought to you by Alexandra Laudo, inspired by the relationship creators have with technology (works by Irene Solà and Estampa stand out, on Saturday at 8pm).
In addition to the regular programmes (Swab on Paper, Swab Reading, Swab Kids), the fair serves to promote small and independent spaces, such as Cordova and Chiquita Room, and also spaces that are participating in the fair for the first time, such as Dilalica. Something new this year is you'll be able to access the fair online through the Artsy platform.
