After Sun Party

Attention, Sunday hedonists, there's a new gastro-party in town. After Sun Party is on in Ocaña, right in Plaça Reial, from 6pm to midnight – the perfect way to perk up after a day at the beach for visitors and locals alike. For the event, this colourful restaurant and mezcalería has a dress code that includes your swimming gear, and a menu that's short but delectable, including tacos, ceviche and fruit skewers (bear in mind that the restaurant serves up quality food as a rule, so the offer for After Sun is a great one: ceviches with the day's fresh catch for just €6, and tacos for €3). The chefs work with a playful fusion of food, seen especially in dishes the Tudela lettuce heart and squid taco.

Also at your disposal are fresh juices, 'micheladas' (Mexican spicy shandy), tequilas and pisco sours. It's going to be hot: civic order dictates you can't go shirtless (that includes you, gentlemen), but the square will be filled with inflatable mattresses, floats and a lot of water. In addition to water pistols full of shots, there will be tropical music and a Carmen Miranda–type host to keep things interesting. Those putting on the party have experience in such things as they also put together the Mala Vida party in nearby Badalona. They definitely know how to throw a fiesta.
