DJ Richie Hawtin headlines the end of the Piknic season, which happily coincides with the free sessions of the Mercè celebrations. His relevance and influence in the world of techno and dance music of the last 20 years is undeniable. British born but Canadian by adoption, Hawtin was at the centre of the new wave of Detroit producers in the early 1990s and in the expansion of minimal techno, which saw him as the central figure with his alias, Plastikman.
